Dave Matthews Band to Host Benefit Concert for Hurricane Helene and Milton Victims at Madison Square Garden
Dave Matthews Band has announced an upcoming benefit concert, titled “Soulshine,” aimed at raising funds for those affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton. The concert will be held on November 24 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, following the band’s performances at the same venue on the previous two nights.
The benefit event promises an impressive lineup, including the Warren Haynes Band, which hails from North Carolina—one of the states hardest hit by recent storms—as well as Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and Goose. Special guests like Trey Anastasio, Mavis Staples, and Trombone Shorty are set to join, adding to the excitement of the evening.
Proceeds from “Soulshine” will go to the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation’s Concert Fund. This fund supports Habitat for Humanity’s 2024 Hurricane Recovery efforts and various nonprofits in the affected areas of North Carolina and Florida. The band hopes the concert will provide essential relief to those impacted by these recent natural disasters.
Hurricane Helene hit Appalachia and western North Carolina with record rainfall, resulting in devastating floods and a tragic death toll exceeding 200 across six states. Following closely, Hurricane Milton brought torrential rain, powerful winds, and extensive power outages to Florida, with 17 fatalities reported.
Tickets for “Soulshine” go on sale to the general public on Thursday at 10 a.m. EDT.
