As Slipknot commemorates 25 years since their groundbreaking debut, the band remains a dynamic force in the metal scene, marked by fresh music, global tours, and notable lineup shifts.
New Music on the Horizon
Percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan recently revealed that Slipknot is in the early stages of crafting a new album. While still in the demo phase, this development excites fans eager for new material from the band.
European Tour and Festival Appearances
In celebration of their 25th anniversary, Slipknot has unveiled plans for a European tour in June 2025. The tour includes headline performances at major festivals such as Rock for People in Czechia, Resurrection Fest in Spain, and a speculated slot at the UK’s Download Festival, given a notable gap in their tour schedule during the festival dates.
Lineup Changes and New Additions
The band has experienced significant lineup changes recently. In November 2023, Slipknot parted ways with drummer Jay Weinberg, citing artistic differences. Weinberg described the decision as “sudden” and “devastating.” By April 2024, Eloy Casagrande, formerly of Sepultura, was officially announced as the new drummer, bringing renewed energy to the group’s rhythm section.
Personal Milestones
On a personal note, Slipknot’s DJ Sid Wilson and his partner, Kelly Osbourne, welcomed their son, Sidney, in late 2022. The couple, together since 2022, has shared glimpses of their family life, with Kelly expressing that motherhood is the best thing that has happened to her.
Upcoming Festival Performances
Beyond Europe, Slipknot is set to headline the Inkcarceration Festival in Ohio from July 18-20, 2025. The festival’s lineup boasts other prominent metal acts, including Five Finger Death Punch and Lamb of God, promising a weekend of intense performances.
As Slipknot continues to evolve, their commitment to delivering powerful music and unforgettable live shows remains unwavering, solidifying their legacy in the metal world.
