The Dead South has announced the cancellation of their highly anticipated world tour, following the sudden and unexpected departure of founding member Scott Pringle.
The band broke the news via their official social media platforms early Friday morning, leaving fans stunned and emotional. The statement read:
“We are devastated to announce that due to unforeseen personal circumstances, Scott Pringle has made the difficult decision to step away from The Dead South indefinitely. This has not been an easy moment for any of us, and as a result, we will be cancelling our upcoming world tour. We ask for your understanding and support during this time.”
Pringle, who has been a core part of the band since its formation in 2012, is known for his masterful work on mandolin and guitar, as well as his unique stage presence that has helped define The Dead South’s hauntingly raw and powerful aesthetic. His departure has not only rocked the band’s inner circle but also left fans across the globe heartbroken.
The group was scheduled to embark on a massive tour spanning North America, Europe, and Australia, with several dates already sold out months in advance. Tickets will be fully refunded, but the disappointment remains heavy.
Social media has since been flooded with emotional tributes, memories, and well-wishes from fans. One wrote, “I’ve waited years to see them live. This is crushing—but I hope Scott is okay.
