Phish Delivers Epic Spring 2025 Tour Kickoff with Surprises and Fan Favorites…

Legendary jam band Phish kicked off their highly anticipated Spring 2025 tour with a spectacular show that thrilled fans and set the tone for what promises to be another unforgettable season of live improvisation, deep cuts, and surprise moments. The first concert of the tour took place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, and true to form, the Vermont quartet brought an electrifying mix of old favorites and unexpected jams that had the audience on their feet from the first note.

Fans were treated to an expansive setlist that included classic Phish staples like “You Enjoy Myself,” “Tweezer,” and “Bathtub Gin,” alongside some rarities and deep cuts that hadn’t been played live in years. The band also debuted a brand new instrumental jam, currently being referred to by fans as “The Crescent City Groove,” in honor of the venue’s location. The fresh track featured swirling keyboard work from Page McConnell and a funky bassline from Mike Gordon that instantly caught on with the crowd.

What made the night even more special was the band’s nod to local culture. In true New Orleans fashion, a brass section joined Phish on stage during the encore, transforming their cover of “When the Saints Go Marching In” into a full-blown celebration. The band’s ability to adapt to the city’s vibrant musical atmosphere demonstrated once again why they remain one of the most innovative live acts in the world.

Trey Anastasio, ever the charismatic frontman, spoke warmly to the audience about the band’s appreciation for the fans who continue to show up year after year. “Every tour is a new journey,” he said. “And it always starts with all of you.”

The Spring 2025 tour will take Phish across major U.S. cities, including multi-night runs at Madison Square Garden in New York, The Gorge in Washington State, and a highly anticipated return to Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. With their improvisational spirit and loyal fan base, Phish continues to redefine what it means to experience live music.

For fans old and new, this tour is already shaping up to be one for the books.
