New Jersey Bar Cancels Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band Over Singer’s Anti-Trump Comments…

A Bruce Springsteen tribute band scheduled to perform at a New Jersey bar was dropped from the lineup after the real Springsteen made anti-Trump comments during his ongoing European tour. The band, aptly named No Surrender, was slated to take the stage at Riv’s Toms River Hub on May 30. However, the bar’s owner abruptly canceled the gig following Springsteen’s public criticism of former President Donald Trump.

According to reports, the bar owner was unhappy with Springsteen’s political stance and decided not to associate with anything tied to the rock legend. “I won’t stand for his bull****,” the owner reportedly said, referring to Springsteen’s recent statements criticizing Trump and expressing concern over his possible return to office.

The tribute band, which has no official affiliation with Springsteen beyond their admiration for his music, found themselves caught in the crossfire of the nation’s increasingly polarized political climate. The group expressed disappointment over the decision, emphasizing that their focus is purely on performing Springsteen’s music and celebrating his artistry—not on politics.

Fans of the band and the venue took to social media to voice mixed reactions. Some supported the bar owner’s decision, citing their own political views and the right of private businesses to choose their entertainment. Others accused the bar of overreacting and punishing a group of musicians who had nothing to do with Springsteen’s personal opinions.

Springsteen, often called “The Boss,” has never shied away from political activism. A vocal critic of Trump in the past, he has used his platform to support a range of social and political causes. This latest incident highlights the ongoing intersection of politics and entertainment in America, where even tribute acts can find themselves at the center of controversy.

As of now, No Surrender is seeking a new venue for their May 30 performance.
