Newsnow: Newcastle is reportedly interested in a dynamic 22-year-old Swedish flyer.

There have been significant developments behind the scenes at Newcastle United recently, particularly with the restructuring following Dan Ashworth’s departure from the club.

Eddie Howe’s position as manager remains stable, although it’s expected that he will seek assurances that the working methods he enjoyed under Ashworth will continue under the new sporting director, Paul Mitchell. Otherwise, there’s a possibility Howe could consider offers from the Football Association regarding the England national team job.

Despite these considerations, Howe is currently fully committed to his role at St. James’ Park. According to sources familiar with the club’s plans, Newcastle maintain interest in signing Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest.

Elanga, a 22-year-old Swedish winger formerly with Manchester United, could be available for a fee ranging from £40 million to £45 million. It is believed that Howe sees Elanga as a potential understudy to Anthony Gordon within the team.

Eddie Howe is especially intrigued by Anthony Elanga’s versatility as a reverse winger on the right side. Given Liverpool’s continued interest in Anthony Gordon, Elanga could swiftly emerge as Newcastle’s preferred choice for that role.

Additionally, Newcastle is open to considering offers for Miguel Almiron. However, as of now, no suitable offers have been presented to the club.

As the Premier League season kicks off in just over three weeks, it’s crucial for Newcastle United and other clubs conducting transfer business to finalize deals as soon as possible.

Introducing new players right before or during the season can disrupt team harmony significantly. Therefore, Newcastle aims to complete their transfers promptly to minimize any potential disturbances to team equilibrium.
