Di’Shon Bernard has committed his future to Sheffield Wednesday by signing a new contract with the club. His previous deal had expired at the end of June.

Despite this, Sheffield Wednesday still appear thin at center-back, with Danny Rohl currently relying on Bernard, Bambo Diaby, Michael Ihiekwe, Akin Famewo, and Dominic Iorfa.
If Rohl continues with the 5-2-2-1 formation that proved successful in the Championship last season, he will likely seek one or two additional center-backs this summer, especially given the injury concerns surrounding Iorfa and Ihiekwe.
There are various options available to Rohl and Sheffield Wednesday, and one of Sheffield United’s rumored transfer targets could potentially be an ideal addition at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday should consider making a move for Harry Souttar, who is reportedly attracting interest from Sheffield United and Stoke City at Leicester City.
The 25-year-old Australian international, with 30 caps to his name, had limited opportunities at Leicester City last season, featuring in just three Championship matches. His progress has been hampered by significant injuries following a promising start at Stoke City, which culminated in his high-profile transfer to Leicester in 2022.
With Leicester City looking to loan out Souttar for the 2024/25 season, he presents a potential opportunity for Sheffield Wednesday to bolster their defensive options.
