Norwich City is Close to Signing Danish Midfielder Oscar Schwartau
Norwich City is on the brink of adding promising Danish midfielder Oscar Schwartau to their roster. The club’s head coach, Johannes Hoff Thorup, recently confirmed that the transfer is nearly finalized. The Canaries successfully negotiated a fee with Brøndby, one of Denmark’s top clubs, earlier this week, allowing Schwartau to travel to England to complete the move.
Thorup shared this update during a press conference held before Norwich’s upcoming match against Sheffield United. However, the 18-year-old midfielder won’t be eligible to play in that game at Carrow Road as the paperwork wasn’t completed in time.
Thorup, who is well-acquainted with Schwartau’s abilities from his time managing Nordsjaelland, expressed confidence in the young player’s potential. Schwartau had previously made an impression on Thorup by scoring against his former team, showcasing his knack for joining the attack at the right moments.
The coach praised Schwartau for his sharp game sense, particularly his ability to read the game and position himself well in offensive situations. Thorup noted that Schwartau has a natural talent for finding the back of the net and contributing to the team’s forward momentum. Despite his young age, Schwartau has already gained significant experience in the competitive environment of Danish football, which has helped him develop a strong physique and work rate on the field. As Norwich City awaits the finalization of the deal, fans are eager to see how this young talent will fit into the team and what he will bring to their campaign.
