According to reports, Aberdeen is pursuing Ghanaian center back Nurudeen Abdulai.

Aberdeen are reportedly monitoring Ghanaian defender Nurudeen Abdulai with the possibility of a move in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old, highly regarded for his performances, has recently won the Ghana Premier League with Medeama SC. Abdulai has also been called up to the Ghana national team.

Sources in Ghana suggest that Aberdeen is preparing an offer for the defender, who is also being scouted by clubs in England, Denmark, and Norway.

Abdulai has made 57 appearances for Medeama SC, scoring four goals. He featured in the group stages of the CAF Champions League last season and was instrumental in Medeama SC’s historic Ghana Premier League title win in the 2022/23 season.

The centre-back was chosen for the Ghana squad that played against Madagascar and Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November last year, though he did not see any action and was an unused substitute in both matches.

Abdulai was also named in the provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations but missed out due to a shoulder injury.

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin has already strengthened the defence this summer by signing centre-back Gavin Molloy from Shelbourne on a three-year contract. Molloy has started all three of the season’s opening games.
