Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Morning Playlist Sparks Lively Banter with Wife Amy
In a recent episode of the Dirty Mo Media podcast, Amy Earnhardt, wife of NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr., humorously expressed her frustration over her husband’s choice of wake-up music. Amy revealed that Dale has a penchant for heavy rock tunes in the morning, which she finds quite jarring. While Dale might be energized and ready to tackle the day, Amy candidly admitted that this music can push her into a rage, impacting her mood for the entire day.
Dale, a two-time Xfinity Series champion, first crossed paths with Amy when he hired her design firm for his home in Kannapolis. Their professional relationship blossomed into romance, which they kept under wraps for over two years. The couple finally went public in 2011 at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champions Week Awards Ceremony and later tied the knot in 2016 in Lexington, North Carolina. Their long-standing relationship has made Amy well-acquainted with Dale’s unique quirks, including his musical preferences.
During the podcast, Amy recounted how Dale often introduces his latest favorite songs to their shared playlist. She humorously noted that every time they’re in the Truck together, his new song selection plays first. However, it’s the genre he chooses to wake up to that particularly irks her. “He loves to blast heavy rock music in the morning,” Amy remarked, adding that while she appreciates bands like Metallica, such intense music is far from her idea of a pleasant start to the day.
Despite the morning music debates, Dale also has a softer side when it comes to music. He enjoys pop-punk and alternative bands from the ’90s, genres that Amy has learned to enjoy, especially when they attend concerts together. Their shared musical experiences highlight a balance between his energetic preferences and her need for a calmer start to the day.
In the racing world, Dale Earnhardt Jr. continues to be active, albeit part-time, in the Xfinity Series after retiring from full-time Cup racing in 2017. Recently, he faced challenges at the Food City 300 in Bristol, dealing with early radio issues that led to a frustrating race. Nevertheless, he performed well against his teammates, finishing seventh despite the setbacks. Meanwhile, Amy supports his endeavors, sharing moments from the races on social media, showcasing their co-owned brand, High Rock Vodka, amidst their racing adventures.
