Ritchie Blackmore, renowned as one of the most influential guitarists ever, recently shared his favorite guitar player. Deep Purple’s Blackmore, a legendary figure in the music world, was featured in the International Musician and Recording World magazine.
In the cover story, Blackmore, known for his work on “Stargazer,” expressed his admiration for Jeff Beck. He described Beck as “a very natural guitar player” and remarked, “As a guitarist myself, I’m familiar with many techniques, but whenever I watch Beck, I find myself wondering, ‘How is he doing that?'”
Blackmore continued to praise Beck, noting, “He produces echoes that seem to come from nowhere, and he can transition from playing a soft, sustain-free passage to suddenly racing up the fingerboard with intense sustain. It seems like he has complete control over sustain, using it precisely when he chooses.”
