Colin Castleton Re-Signed By Lakers To A Two-Way Contract

The Los Angeles Lakers have extended center Colin Castleton’s contract with a two-way deal, as announced today by Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka.

Castleton, who debuted as a rookie during the 2023-24 season, appeared in 16 games for the Lakers, averaging 1.5 points in 3.7 minutes per game. In addition to his NBA stint, the 24-year-old played 12 regular-season games for the South Bay Lakers in the G League, starting all of them and averaging 14.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 blocks in 28.6 minutes per game. He achieved double-digit scoring in nine games, including three games with over 20 points.

During his collegiate career spanning five seasons at the University of Florida (2020-23) and the University of Michigan (2018-20), Castleton appeared in a total of 122 games with 75 starts, averaging 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.7 blocks in 20.9 minutes per game. In his final season at Florida, he played in 26 games, all as a starter, averaging 16.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 3.0 blocks in 31.2 minutes per game, earning All-SEC First Team honors. His average of 3.0 blocks per game led the SEC and ranked third in the NCAA overall, and he was selected for the 2023 All-SEC Defensive Team.
