Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Amy’s Tropical Escape After Saying Goodbye to North Carolina
Amy Earnhardt, wife of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr., recently treated her followers to a glimpse of a tropical getaway on social media. Posting a picture from the window of an airplane with the caption “Adios NC,” Amy hinted that she and Dale might be enjoying some well-deserved time by the ocean. The couple, married for eight years, resides in Mooresville, North Carolina, with their two daughters, Isla and Nicole. Along with her role as an interior designer, Amy co-owns High Rock Vodka, a premium handcrafted vodka brand, with Dale Jr.
In addition to her travel photo, Amy shared a picture of herself with Dale at a well-known seafood spot, wearing a hat from “The Longboard Sullivan’s Island, SC.” This suggests that the Earnhardts were taking a brief break to unwind from their busy schedules. Despite retiring from full-time racing in 2017, Dale Jr. remains active in the sport, both as the co-owner of JR Motorsports and as a future commentator for TNT Sports and Amazon Prime’s NASCAR Cup Series coverage in 2025. He will be joined by familiar names like Steve Letarte and Adam Alexander.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s racing career is nothing short of impressive, with 26 race wins, 17 of which were with his family’s team, Dale Earnhardt Inc., and the remaining victories with Hendrick Motorsports. Though he retired from full-time racing, he hasn’t completely left the sport, continuing to participate in national-level events. Most recently, he made a return to racing at Florence Motor Speedway, piloting his iconic No. 8 Budweiser Chevy Camaro for the first time since 2007. Despite his impressive performance, a mechanical failure resulted in a frustrating 28th place finish.
Amy, who was present at the track that night, unfortunately missed the chance to see her husband in action due to tending to their daughters. She later expressed her feelings on Instagram, writing, “What a fun night! I heard the 8 was bad fast. I fell asleep putting the girls down and missed the whole thing.” Although she didn’t witness the race, her words reflect her pride and enthusiasm for Dale’s enduring love for the sport.
Looking to the future, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has announced that he will race in the Cook Out 225 ZMax CARS Tour race at Florence Motor Speedway on August 29, 2025. The event will be part of the zMAX CARS Tour, a premier late-model racing series that Dale Jr. co-owns. As the Earnhardt family continues to stay closely connected to motorsports, they eagerly anticipate the next chapter in Dale Jr.’s racing journey, both on and off the track.
