David Gray will give lifeline to former Aberdeen man, Junior Hoilett Hibs

Hibernian is reportedly preparing to offer Junior Hoilett a move to Easter Road.

The Canadian was offered a new deal at Aberdeen by manager Jimmy Thelin but chose not to sign it and explore free agency opportunities instead. Hibs head coach David Gray is interested in adding experienced players to his squad, and the 34-year-old Hoilett is familiar with the Premiership. According to the Daily Record, Hoilett is nearing full fitness after recovering from a training ground injury sustained during international duty.

Gray is contemplating offering Hoilett a short-term contract that would bring him back to Scotland and provide him with the chance to join Hibernian in the capital.

The player brings extensive experience from the Premier League and Championship, having played for clubs such as QPR, Blackburn, and Cardiff. His recent stint with Aberdeen, however, provided him with a pathway back to a high level of performance, making Gray aware of his availability.

Hoilett scored two goals and provided nine assists during his time at Pittodrie, where he played under Neil Warnock and later Peter Leven.
