Sale has confirmed that Fiji captain Waisea Nayacalevu will join their squad next...

“I’ve been following the Premiership for a long time, and it’s always been a dream of mine to play there and experience rugby in England,” he shared on the club’s website.

Nayacalevu scored a try during Fiji’s historic victory at Twickenham before the last World Cup, where he served as captain. At 33, he is versatile enough to play both center and wing and spent a decade at Stade Francais before moving to Toulon two years ago.

“I’ve talked to Telusa Veainu, and he only had great things to say about the club and Manchester,” Nayacalevu said.

“I’m eager to play alongside guys I’ve faced before, like Tom Curry and George Ford. I’m also excited about the talented young players in the Sale Sharks squad and am looking forward to sharing my experience to help them grow.”

“I mentioned to Alex that mentoring young talent has been a key part of my career in recent years, and it’s something I’m truly passionate about.”
