Derby County are poised to receive a modest financial boost from Jayden Bogle’s transfer to Leeds United during the summer window, as per reports. Bogle, aged 23, emerged from Derby’s academy after joining the club from Swindon Town in 2016 as a promising youth prospect.
After making his debut under former manager Frank Lampard in 2018, Jayden Bogle quickly established himself as a regular right-back for Derby County, showcasing his attacking prowess. During his tenure at Pride Park, he scored 3 goals and provided 16 assists over two seasons with the first team.
His impressive performances attracted interest, leading to a move to Sheffield United in 2020, alongside fellow defender Max Lowe. Bogle went on to make over 100 appearances for the Blades, scoring 12 goals and assisting on four occasions, accumulating valuable Premier League experience during his four-year stint.
As his contract approached its final year at Bramall Lane, a transfer agreement was reached that saw him join Leeds United.

According to BBC Radio Derby reporter Dominic Dietrich, Derby County indeed negotiated a sell-on clause as part of Bogle’s transfer to Sheffield United. This clause entitles Derby to receive a portion of the profit made on the initial transfer fee.
However, the financial benefit to Derby County from this sell-on clause is expected to be minimal, as it is based on a percentage of the profit generated from Bogle’s transfer fee to Leeds United.
Even though the amount may not be substantial, this sell-on clause represents a welcome financial boost for Derby County. It adds to the club’s revenue and marks another instance where Derby has successfully capitalized on a sell-on clause.
Derby County has received significant transfer windfalls from sell-on clauses and other sales during the summer window, beyond just Jayden Bogle’s deal.
