Toronto has some uncertainties with their forwards, especially with Nick Robertson, a restricted free agent who has requested a trade. The website PuckPedia recently launched a tool called PuckGM, which allows users to create their own trades, and one user proposed a deal where the Maple Leafs would trade Robertson and another player for Frost.

Toronto faces uncertainty with their forwards, especially Nick Robertson, a restricted free agent who has requested a trade. PuckPedia’s new tool, PuckGM, lets users create trade scenarios, and one user proposed a deal that would send Robertson and another player to the Flyers in exchange for Frost.
**Maple Leafs receive:**
– Morgan Frost
**Flyers receive:**
– Nick Robertson
– Calle Jarnkrok
The proposed trade makes sense on paper, as both Frost and Jarnkrok have $2.1 million annual salaries, so the finances align. Toronto would gain a young forward in Frost, who would have the chance to play for his hometown team. This trade would also allow the Leafs to offload Jarnkrok’s contract and move Robertson, who wants out of Toronto.
For the Flyers, the deal offers a chance to take a risk on Robertson, who has shown potential in limited playing time. They would also part with Frost, a 2017 first-round pick whose career has been inconsistent.
Frost is entering the second year of his two-year, $4.2 million contract. Last season, he played 71 games, scoring 13 goals and 28 assists for 41 points.
Jarnkrok, meanwhile, had 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points in 52 games, while Robertson contributed 14 goals and 13 assists for 27 points in 56 games.
**Frost Considered as Trade Option**
Morgan Frost was occasionally a healthy scratch last season, as there appeared to be a disconnect between him and Flyers head coach John Tortorella.
In June, NHL insider Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff included Frost on his trade bait board, suggesting he could be a potential trade candidate this offseason.
After a difficult season where Frost spent a significant amount of time as a healthy scratch, he finished on a high note, scoring 30 points in 44 games during 2024. One thing that hasn’t changed is John Tortorella remaining the Flyers’ coach. While some pushback from Frost seemed to improve his standing with Tortorella, it’s still unclear if they’ll fully see eye-to-eye,” Seravalli wrote.
“Frost’s playing style might not completely align with what Tortorella expects on a nightly basis. The Flyers see a lot of potential in Frost and wouldn’t hesitate to keep him, but they’re also open to considering creative trade offers. However, there hasn’t been much movement on that front yet,” Seravalli added.
Frost has appeared in 229 NHL games, tallying 39 goals and 71 assists for a total of 110 points.
