Crystal Palace have reportedly made a €15 million bid for Marcus Edwards, but Sporting CP is likely to reject it in hopes of securing a higher fee. According to Record via Sport Witness, Crystal Palace’s offer falls short of Sporting CP’s valuation of the former Spurs player, which is in the range of €25-30 million.

Crystal Palace are keen on acquiring Edwards to fill the void left by Michael Olise, who departed for Bayern Munich. The Eagles see Edwards as a valuable addition, prioritizing players who offer good value in the transfer market over those with high price tags. They remain optimistic about their chances but may need to negotiate further to meet Sporting CP’s demands for the English winger.

Marcus Edwards has faced challenges at Sporting CP, where he is no longer a regular starter under manager Ruben Amorim. The club, which once held firm on demanding a high price for the winger, now appears open to selling him for a reasonable sum, especially with Edwards expressing a desire to move to the Premier League.

Crystal Palace has maintained interest in Edwards for some time, and their urgent need to replace Michael Olise may have accelerated their pursuit. Reports indicate that Palace has made a €15 million offer to secure Edwards, but it is expected to fall short of Sporting’s valuation. Sporting CP reportedly seeks a fee ranging from €25 million to €50 million for the English attacker, indicating a significant gap between their asking price and Palace’s initial bid.

Marcus Edwards’ recent decline in form over the past six months may make Crystal Palace’s pursuit ambitious. However, to secure his transfer, a fee in the range of €25-30 million could potentially convince Sporting CP to sell.

Despite reported interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Edwards is said to favor a move to the Premier League. This preference could work in Palace’s favor as they compete to sign the English winger.
