
Legendary heavy metal band Motörhead is marking its 50th anniversary in 2025 with a series of special re-releases of their most iconic albums. Fans will have the opportunity to relive the raw energy and intensity of Overkill (1979), Bomber (1979), and Ace of Spades (1980) as the band unveils limited-edition, half-speed mastered vinyl pressings.
Special Vinyl Reissues and Collectibles
On February 28, 2025, Motörhead will release exclusive colored vinyl editions of these three classic albums. These pressings have been half-speed mastered, ensuring superior sound quality that brings out the full power of the band’s signature sound. Each album will also come with exclusive posters and unique color variations, making them must-have collector’s items for longtime fans.
Phil Campbell, Motörhead’s guitarist, expressed his excitement about the milestone:

International Motörhead Day and Lemmy Tribute
As part of the 50th-anniversary celebrations, May 8, 2025, will be recognized as International Motörhead Day. On this day, a statue of Lemmy Kilmister will be unveiled in his birthplace, Stoke-on-Trent. The tribute, crafted by renowned sculptor Andy Edwards, will serve as a permanent homage to Lemmy’s enduring legacy.
Motörhead’s impact on rock and metal is undeniable, with over 25 million albums sold and a fanbase that remains fiercely loyal. While the band officially ended after Lemmy’s passing in 2015, their music continues to inspire generations of fans and musicians alike.
