Nevermore Announces New Album & Tour After More Than a Decade of Silence!
Fans of progressive thrash metal have reason to celebrate, as Nevermore has officially announced their long-awaited return with a brand-new album and an international tour. This marks the band’s first major activity since their disbandment in 2011, and excitement is already reaching a fever pitch.
Guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams, two of the group’s founding members, have spearheaded this resurrection, revealing that the new album is in its final stages of production. The band has been actively searching for a new vocalist and bassist, as former members Warrel Dane (who tragically passed away in 2017) and Jim Sheppard are not part of this new chapter. According to Loomis, Nevermore received over 650 audition tapes for the vocalist position, signaling the immense interest from musicians worldwide.
“We wanted to do this the right way,” Loomis stated in a recent interview. “Nevermore had a unique sound and a deep connection with our fans. We’re making sure that the new lineup honors that legacy while also bringing something fresh to the table.”
The upcoming album, still untitled, is expected to feature Nevermore’s signature blend of intricate guitar work, thought-provoking lyrics, and powerful drumming. The band has teased that the new material will be heavier and darker, in line with their previous works like Dead Heart in a Dead World and This Godless Endeavor.
Accompanying the album will be an extensive world tour, set to kick off in early 2026. While specific dates have yet to be confirmed, Nevermore has promised performances in major cities across North America, Europe, and South America, with a possibility of festival appearances.
As anticipation builds, metal fans are eagerly awaiting the return of one of the most innovative and respected bands in the genre. The next chapter of Nevermore is finally here!
