Alternative rock band Placebo has made two major announcements for 2024. First, they have confirmed additional UK tour dates as part of their summer concert series. Second, they have unveiled details of a new documentary titled This Search For Meaning, set for release in September.
New Documentary: This Search For Meaning
Directed by Scottish filmmaker Oscar Sansom, This Search For Meaning explores Placebo’s journey through the Britpop-dominated music scene of the ’90s while addressing themes central to their music, such as identity, surveillance, addiction, and the climate crisis. The documentary includes interviews with band members Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal, as well as contributions from notable artists like Shirley Manson (Garbage), Robbie Williams, Yungblud, and Joe Talbot (IDLES). It also features exclusive performances of songs from their 2022 album Never Let Me Go, recorded at Twickenham Film Studios.
New UK Tour Dates
In addition to their already scheduled performance at Bristol Sounds on June 28, Placebo has added two new UK shows:
June 25, 2024 – The Piece Hall, Halifax
June 26, 2024 – Guildhall Square, Southampton
These shows are part of the Live At The Piece Hall and Summer Sessions concert series. The band will also perform in various locations across Europe, South America, Australia, and the U.S. throughout the year.
