Southampton FC has announced the official squad numbers for the upcoming 2024/25 Premier League season. Notably, German defender Armel Bella-Kotchap has been excluded from the list following the club’s acceptance of a £12.8 million offer from Hoffenheim. As a result, Adam Lallana, a key player for the Saints, has been assigned the coveted number 10 shirt.
The newly acquired players for the season have also been allocated their numbers. Ben Brereton Díaz, who joined during the summer transfer window, will be wearing the number 17 jersey. Other recent signings, including Ronnie Edwards, Nathan Wood, Yukinari Sugawara, and Charlie Taylor, will sport numbers 12, 15, 16, and 21, respectively. Will Smallbone, who has been with the club for several seasons, will switch to number 8, while Taylor Harwood-Bellis, after making his transfer permanent, will don the number 6 shirt.
A few players have also seen changes to their numbers as they return to the squad. Paul Onuachu, after his stint at Trabzonspor, will now wear number 32, down from his previous number 12. Charly Alcaraz is set to wear number 22, and Mat Lis will take on the number 30 jersey.
Here’s the complete list of squad numbers, which might still undergo minor adjustments as the season progresses. Notable inclusions are Alex McCarthy at number 1, Kyle Walker-Peters at number 2, and Ryan Manning with the number 3 jersey. With the confirmation of these numbers, Southampton FC is all set for what promises to be an exciting Premier League season.
