VFL Report: Canines defeat Dees

The Footscray Bulldogs secured a decisive victory over the Casey Demons at Mission Whitten Oval on Friday afternoon with a commanding performance.

The Bulldogs dominated throughout, finishing with a convincing 19.10 (124) to 10.8 (68) win over the Demons.

From the start, Footscray set a strong tone, attacking aggressively in the opening term. Their pressure and effective ball movement kept Casey from entering their forward 50 for the first half of the quarter.

Although the Demons improved their game slightly in the second term, the Bulldogs maintained their advantage and went into the halftime break with a 20-point lead.

Footscray’s momentum waned a bit in the third quarter, allowing the Dees to close the gap with three unanswered goals. However, the Bulldogs regained control in the final term, finishing strongly with four consecutive goals.

Ryley Sanders was a standout performer, kicking three goals and gathering 39 disposals, while Jack Macrae was the top ball-winner, amassing an impressive 43 disposals and 10 clearances.

The Bulldogs will next face Frankston in their match next Sunday at Kinetic Stadium.
